Charity Game a Big Hit for CASA
The Victoria Texans game against the Texas Wranglers on December 17th at Patti Welder Stadium was a big success for the CASA as the proceeds benefit the Golden Crescent CASA.
The Texans won 19-6 as their kicker booted 4 field goals including one from 47 yards. The offense got on the board thanks to a Freddie Allen run from 25 yards out and the Wranglers punched one in as time was winding down in the game, scoring with :06 left in the game.

The CRAF All-Star game was played on a warm, but beautiful night in Victoria. Historic Patti Welder Stadium was the site of the first annual CRAF All-Star game. The South won the contest over the North, 22-14.
It was a scoreless first half, much like the Crossroads Bowl...it took the second half for the offenses to start firing up. Greg Williams, San Antonio Knights, scored first with a 20 yard from Joey Garcia, San Antonio Knights. Jerry Clouse, Dilley Warriors, added the two point pass reception from Garcia to get the North on the scoreboard first, 8-0.
ER Saenz, Port Lavaca Seahawks, got the South on the board with a 20 yard pass of his own. Mike Gilmore, Mathis Lions, was the recipient. The extra point was no good. The North allowed the South ten seconds to celebrate as they answered back quickly. Clouse and Garcia hooked up again, this time from 61 yards. The PAT was no good. The score at that point was 14-6. With three minutes left in the 3rd quarter, Archie Redus, Bay City Broncos, caught a 12 yard pass from Jarad Ramirez, Bay City Broncos. Terek Hayes, Golden Crescent Raiders, added the 2 point conversion. At the end of the 3rd quarter, our score was tied at 14.
The 4th quarter was extremely intense and had several big hits. The biggest excitement came with 10 minutes left in the game as Terrance Flagg, Bay City Broncos, got himself a pick six as he intercepted Garcia from 25 yards out. The 2 point conversion was good and that concluded the scoring as the South came from behind to win the game, 22-14.
One sidenote, please pray for Kevin Busch, San Antonio Desperados. He was seriously injured and taken to the hospital to be examined. No details were given at the time of the game, but any updates will be passed along the CRAF Facebook page.
